FISCAL DEPARTMENT'S MISSION

The Fiscal Department's mission is to provide accurate, timely and useful grant, contract and financial management information and services to the Hopland Band of Pomo Indians. We work to support all departments through responsible accounting, reporting, and procurement policies.

The primary objectives of an accounting system are to provide:
    1.   Management information and financial reporting on a timely basis;
    2.  Safeguards over assets;
    3.  Determination of all liabilities;
    4.  Assurance that all revenues are received; and control over disbursements.

The Fiscal Department provides a service and support to all other departments of the Hopland Band of Pomo Indians. Without compromising the policies and procedures, the fiscal staff must always strive to provide this support in a spirit of teamwork and compatibility.

COMPLIANCE

We expend more than $500,000 in Federal awards per year and are required to obtain an Annual audit in accordance with the Single Audit Act of 1984, amendments of 1996, OMB Circular A-133.

We assure that Federal awards are expended properly, and comply with circular A-87, GAAP and GASB. There are numerous other policies, procedures, ordinances and resolutions which also govern spending and accountability.

Our staff consists of: Chief Financial Officer, and Two Accounting Technicians.
